3 Ways to Have A Phenomenal Year

At the ThriVe with Babs January session, Babs Oladele thanked everyone who participated in the previous Reading Culture Dialogue. He highlighted the importance of effective communication and writing skills in professional development and personal growth.

He also mentioned various professional development opportunities available for the new interns, including book readings, plenary sessions, and mentoring sessions. Babs emphasized the importance of attending book reading sessions.

He also mentioned a quarterly Reading Culture Dialogue focused on national issues related to education and learning. Babs announced that meetings would take place every last Sunday of the month, with an exception for December due to end-of-year festivities. He acknowledged the contributions of several participants and expressed his joy in helping people improve their outcomes.

Charity, Resources, and Philanthropy

Babs Oladele discussed the importance of consulting various resources such as references, texts, experiences, and life-case scenarios to develop his understanding of topics. He emphasized the significance of charity as a key factor to prosperity and wealth, using personal examples. He also highlighted the top 10 philanthropists in the world and their substantial charitable contributions and asked Olalekan Adigun if he could share his experiences with participants.

The Power of Giving: Preparing for 2024

Babs Oladele stressed the significance of cultivating the habit of giving, particularly by donating at least 10% of one’s earnings. He clarified that this principle is not confined to any religious doctrine but is universally applicable. Babs also announced that the meeting was designed for sharing insights and experiences, with a focus on preparing for the year 2024.

He invited attendees to share their thoughts on what it would take to make 2024 a unique year and Linus Barry Tagang shared his thoughts and processes in which he intends to make the year unique.

Discipline, Decision-Making, and Limits in Achieving Goals

Linus emphasized the importance of understanding personal limitations and the need to say no when they are overwhelmed. He also stressed the significance of decision-making in achieving one’s goals. Kehinde shared his focus on self-discipline, consistency, and focus as key to his success. Babs underscored the role of discipline in achieving dreams and goals.
Influence of Dogmatic Beliefs on Self-Reliance

Babs Oladele spoke about the influence of dogmatic beliefs and the need to challenge them to manifest potential. He emphasized the importance of self-reliance but also acknowledged the necessity of help from others. Babs highlighted the struggles that often come with success and the importance of discipline, consistency, and focus. He concluded by stating that these basic principles are not complex, although they may be challenging to implement.

Embracing Risks and Expansion

Babs Oladele emphasized the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and challenging oneself to achieve more. He shared his personal experiences, such as his successful on-grid work and his upcoming major project in 2024, as examples. Babs also mentioned his struggle with his blog, which he initially saw as a comfortable zone, but now recognizes the need to expand and internationalize. He urged others to demand more from themselves, step out of their comfort zones, and not be afraid to take risks.

Babs Oladele stressed the importance of reaching out for help and resources in achieving success, asserting that no one succeeds alone. He highlighted the significance of communication, expressing oneself, and identifying beneficial associations. Babs also pointed out that success can be obtained not only through human connections but also through reading books, information, and other resources. He emphasized the importance of collaboration, resources, and information in life and urged people not to suffer in silence but to ask for help when needed.

Babs Oladele shared his experiences and encounters, including his time at the University of Ibadan, a meeting with an investor and a missed opportunity to study at the Clinton School of Public Service. He regretted not reaching out to a scholarship opportunity. Babs emphasized the importance of networking and offering/receiving information, rather than just money. He highlighted a potential business venture in Nigeria and a plan to give every Nigerian $1,000.

Success Through Balance and Consistency

Babs Oladele stressed the significance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone, seeking help and resources, and maintaining consistency, discipline, and focus in achieving success. He introduced the concept of balancing “redwork” and “blue work”, emphasizing the need to balance thinking and doing to achieve sustainable success. Babs encouraged people to start with what they have and where they are, rather than waiting for perfect conditions and provided a link for the community to join them.

Babs Oladele led a discussion on goal-setting for the year 2024, emphasizing the importance of taking action and being aware of one’s surroundings. Linus Barry Tagang emphasized the need to focus on positivity and achievable goals. There were concerns raised by Islamiyah Nasir about the constant need to step out of one’s comfort zone, to which Babs responded that life is about continuous change and growth. The session ended with Babs warning about the dangers of greed and envy.

She encouraged individuals to mentor more people, increase the number of clients they serve, and improve their income. Prisca and Babs had a conversation about the significance of self-identity and authenticity for success. Prisca shared her personal experiences, emphasizing that everyone has unique capacities and shouldn’t wait until they’re perfect before starting something. She stressed the importance of being true to oneself and not comparing oneself to others.

Babs agreed, highlighting the challenges of conforming to societal norms and the importance of being oneself to flourish. Babs Oladele expressed his appreciation for everyone’s participation and insights, announcing the next month’s session.
